We are hiring the following positions:
Head barista, full-time: 4-5 days / 30 – 37.5 hours/week
Head barista, part-time: 2-3 days / 15 – 22.5 hours/week
The Foggy Bean Coffee Bar is seeking two experienced coffee professionals to join our team in the role of Head Barista.
The position starts immediately and is a year-round position. Our team is small and professional and the pace is fast during
the summer season. We are open year-round for take-away with seating on a seasonal outdoor patio. We roast our own
beans at our headquarters in Ucluelet.
The candidate for the Head Barista role is fully competent dialing in the espresso grinders, pouring espresso, steaming milk
and making specialty coffee drinks. You can handle anything the bar throws at you and manage work-flow for the busiest
of days. You have experience managing inventory & ordering supplies. We are looking for someone that thrives on the fast
pace, likes early mornings and perfect pours.
In this role you will be:
• Dialing in and pouring espresso, adjusting the grinders and pour as needed throughout your shift
• Ensuring all drinks are made to quality standards
• Assist with the creation of a seasonal feature drink menu
• Manage coffee bar inventory and assist with ordering
• Mentoring & helping to onboard new team members
• Ensuring service standards are maintained, handling customer concerns
• Handling cash and doing cash-out's
• Performing espresso machine, grinder and brewing equipment routine maintenance
• Responsible for Food Safety during your shift
• Opening and closing the coffee bar. (Duties include dishwashing, cleaning, resetting for next day service and
restocking retail items)
Applicants should possess the following:
• A passion for specialty coffee and developing your skills and industry knowledge
• Enjoyment in engaging with new customers and regulars in a warm, welcoming and professional manner
• Work well independently and enjoy mentoring team members
• Experience with coffee equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Calm and consistent under pressure
• Have a minimum two years experience as a barista. Team lead experience is a bonus
• Have a valid Food Safety Level 1 certificate or willingness to get one.

• $20.00/hr plus tips
