The Farm

Ricardo Zelaya's coffee journey began in 1908, when his great-grandfather started founding coffee farms in Guatemala's Antigua Valley. Over generations, the family became pioneers in Guatemalan coffee export, with each generation enhancing quality and production. In 1989, Ricardo, the fourth generation, took over after earning an agribusiness degree and began transforming the farms. His leadership marked the company's official start, driven by a dedicated team committed to producing top-quality coffee. Today, over 25 years later, the business thrives under Ricardo’s leadership, celebrated for its internationally recognized coffees and strong values in social and environmental responsibility.

What is a micro lot?

Micro lots are special lots of coffee, selected for their high quality and unique flavour profiles. You will usually find micro lots within larger farms or estates, grown in limited quantities and picked and processed entirely separately to the rest of the farm's lots. As roasters we devote extra time to develop our roast profile to bring out the best of this special coffee.
